Ryan Calhoon
CMT
Ryan has spent his seven-year career developing his own style of massage based on the psychological term subconscious tension. This technique takes into account the stress and pain caused by abnormal posture, physical trauma, and repetitive motions. It works to find and release the mental and emotional tension associated with areas of physical pain in the body.
Ryan draws inspiration from various Western modalities, such as trigger point therapy, myofascial massage, sports massage, and Eastern techniques, such as Lomi Lomi, Tui Na, and Reiki. He creates a unique, versatile, and individually curated experience for his clients.
As much as Ryan is an expert in relaxation and deep tissue therapy, his keen sense for finding the tension and effectively releasing it makes him incredible at massage for rehabilitation and injury management.
Ryan was born and raised in the Bay Area, but he studied massage therapy in Oregon at East West College of the Healing Arts. When he's not working, Ryan uses his creativity to make music and films.
