James Albertson
PT, DPT OCS CSCS
Jim is a Physical Therapist, Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach, and Certified CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. He has been a physical therapist for over five years and graduated from Samuel Merritt University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2019. Before attending PT school, he was a personal trainer, CrossFit coach, and physical therapy aide for three years.
A native of the Bay Area, Jim has lived in Pleasant Hill for most of his life. He graduated from College Park High School in 2008, where he was a varsity athlete in wrestling and swimming. After spending two years at Diablo Valley College (DVC), he transferred to Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado, where he earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science. Throughout his time at DVC and CMU, he earned Academic All-American honors in his senior year.
After his last swim meet, he became involved in CrossFit and the strength and conditioning field. This, combined with his degree in exercise science, fueled his love and passion for improving movement and performance—for himself and his athletes. He pursued that passion by attending physical therapy school and eventually joined MaxPerformGO. He is excited to help you achieve your goals, whether returning to high-level sports performance or making everyday movement easier.
Ryan Calhoon
CMT
Ryan has spent his seven-year career developing his own style of massage based on the psychological term subconscious tension. This technique takes into account the stress and pain caused by abnormal posture, physical trauma, and repetitive motions. It works to find and release the mental and emotional tension associated with areas of physical pain in the body.
Ryan draws inspiration from various Western modalities, such as trigger point therapy, myofascial massage, and sports massage, as well as Eastern techniques, such as Lomi Lomi, Tui Na, and Reiki. He creates a unique, versatile, and individually curated experience for his clients.
As much as Ryan is an expert in relaxation and deep tissue therapy, his keen sense for finding the tension and effectively releasing it makes him incredible at massage for rehabilitation and injury management.
Ryan was born and raised in the Bay Area, but he studied massage therapy in Oregon at East West College of the Healing Arts. When he's not working, Ryan uses his creativity to make music and films.
